Minutes - Annual Meeting

August 10, 2001, Albuquerque New Mexico

 

1.                  The meeting was called to order by Joan Gabel, Chair

 

2.                  Old Business

 

Pursuant to the ALSB Bylaws, the Executive Committee created the Technology Section.  The Committee requires that each Section have a newsletter and Web site, so each was established during the past year.

 

3.                  New Business

 

Listserv – the Section has a Cyberlawtalk listserv.  To subscribe, contact Joan Gabel at jgabel@gsu.edu.

 

Web site – the Section has a Web site, located at http://techsection.alsb.mercer.edu.  It has a list of useful law links, a discussion page, and links to undergraduate and graduate technology law-related syllabi.  If you wish to share your syllabi with others, contact Jody Blanke at blanke_j@mercer.edu.

 

Section publication – the Section publishes the Technology Report, at http://www.rmi.gsu.edu/legal/technologyreport/techindex.htm.  It has three sections: one containing Section information, one, called "From the Hard Drive," containing research and development articles, and one, called "From the C: Drive," containing articles about teaching and the classroom.

 

Bylaws – bylaws will be drafted during this year and presented to the membership for approval at the next annual conference.  If you have any suggestions, contact Joan Gabel at jgabel@gsu.edu.

 

Officers – it was agreed that Joan Gabel will continue to serve as Chair, Lee Burgunder as Co-chair, and Jody Blanke as Webmaster.  Jody Blanke will also serve as Secretary-Treasurer.
