Minutes - Annual Meeting

July 31, 2002, Las Vegas, Nevada

 

1.                  The meeting was called to order by Joan Gabel, Chair

 

2.         The minutes from the 2001 Technology Section meeting were approved.

 

3.                  Old Business

 

The Technology Section was the fastest growing ALSB section, increasing from some 40  members to over 120 during the last year.

 

The Technology Section now runs the Technology Symposium at the Annual Meetings.  Last year's Symposium had over 90 attendees.  This year's had slightly fewer.

 

The Section publishes The Technology Report every semester to semester and a half.

 

The Section has a Cyberlawtalk listserv.  To subscribe, contact Joan Gabel at jgabel@gsu.edu.

 

The section maintains a Website, located at http://techsection.alsb.mercer.edu.

 

The Bylaws of the Technology Section, proposed at last year's meeting, were approved.

 

4.                  New Business

 

Elections: the following slate of officers was approved by acclamation:

 

    Chair and Webmaster: Jody Blanke

    Vice Chair: Kurt Saunders

    Secretary-Treasurer: Ronnie Cohen

    Technology Report Editor: TBA

 

It was agreed that at next year's Annual Meeting, the Technology Section will attempt to get a speaker, possibly in conjunction with another section, and possibly over lunch.  Also, an attempt will be made to avoid scheduling next year's section meeting at the same time as other sections' meetings.

 

4.                  The meeting was adjourned.
