Technology Law Section
Indianapolis, Indiana
2007 Annual Meeting
Respectfully submitted: Todd H. Bailey
1. Meeting was called to Order by Robert Bird, the outgoing President of the Section.
2. Robert welcomed the members of the Section to our annual meeting. Upon motion, no debate and unanimous proclamation, Cory Ciocchetti was advanced to the position of incoming President of the Section, Todd Bailey was advanced to Vice President of the Section and Patricia Sanchez-Abril was appointed Secretary of the Section.
3. After discussion, it was decided that the Section needed to update its own web page and related content in conjunction with the general overhaul and improvement of the Academy’s website. Corey will provide appropriate direction in this regard. Jody Blanke very generously agreed to provide assistance, explore hosting the site and serving as webmaster.
4. Fran Zollers proposed that all five of the submissions which were made in the teaching technology law and case competition which was sponsored by the Technology Section be posted on the site for the benefit of all concerned. That suggestion was very well received.
5. Janine Hiller reminded the attendees that she was a candidate for the position of Secretary Treasurer for the ALBS.
6. Robert Bird reported on the success of a two-day international Intellectual Property conference hosted by his university in March, 2007.
7. It was reported that five cases had been submitted to the case competition sponsored by the Section, that each case had been reviewed by two double blind judges and that the winner was the case submitted by Kurt Saunders and Leonard Rymsza.
8. All new members and attendees to the Section meeting were welcomed and encouraged to become active in the Section.
9. A general discussion was had regarding preliminary plans for next year’s meeting to be held at Long Beach, California. The officers of the Section were charged with the responsibility for identifying interesting speakers or panelists for the meeting.
